WHAT ARE THE MAIN CAUSES OF ACNE

Causes of acne are unknown, but it is believed that it can result from several factors, primarily, an increase in hormones called androgen's, which both males and females have. Increases in androgen's cause your oil glands to enlarge and produce more oil. This oil can also change into a thick white substance called sebum. An increased oil production clogs your pores with oil and sebum that can breakdown the cellular walls in your pores,

which causes bacteria to grow and pimples to develop.
Some researchers also believe that your chances of developing acne can be greatly influenced by genetics. The use of certain drugs containing androgens and lithium are known to cause acne. The use of greasy cosmetics can also lead to acne because they plug your cell follicles and promote bacterial growth. What are pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, nodules and cysts?.

Causes of acne are heredity and hormone levels. Acne can be caused by overactive oil glands, skin pore blockage, normal skin bacteria activity and inflammation. Other factors contributing to acne outbreaks can be vitamin deficiency, stress, food choices and more. Since acne can be caused by any combination of these factors, it can be hard to pinpoint the exact cause of any specific acne case. Acne is widely considered a hormonal disease because hormones are responsible for the oil glands in the skin. During times when hormone levels are changing, such as puberty, pregnancy and menopause, oil gland production can become unbalanced and result in acne outbreaks. The excess of oil can clog the pores, trapping in bacteria and resulting in non-inflammatory or inflammatory acne. Hormone changes can occur naturally as a result of age and bodily changes, or as a result of increased or decreased levels of hormones that are taken orally or injected. Examples of this include steroids and birth control pills. Acne occurs most in areas that have large concentrations of oil glands. The areas on the body with large amounts of oil glands are the face, chest, shoulders and back. During adolescence, oil glands enlarge and produce more oil. By the mid-twenties, oil production begins to decrease and acne normally subsides. However, in some cases, acne can persist well into adulthood.
Causes of acne are unknown but we do know what exacerbates acne. Hormones, genetics, stress, menstruation for females or when a woman begins her period, all of those factors can exacerbate acne. Do hormones affect my skin?hormones are one of the main causes of acne. So, as women age, they get a higher percentage of testosterone to estrogen ratio in their body and so, they start noticing things like unwanted hair growth and they can develop acne when they've never had acne before in their lives. I frequently see women in their 40s and 50s who tell me, “i shouldn't have to ask you about wrinkles and acne.
